Chinese In Your Hands
Chinese in Your Hands uses authentic materials to build Chinese characters, through which students explore the magic of Chinese language and culture through STEAM and social studies projects. With classical Chinese porcelains introduced, students will explore what ancient Chinese artists chose to paint on their porcelains, and attach the characters we build to each element we recognize (like fish, flowers…). They will also learn the story behind each character such as the symbolic meanings of some animals, and select traditional Chinese elements to design their own modern porcelain paintings! All is welcomed!
