Camp at a Glance
Come get your creative juices moving! In this 3-Day Dance Composition Workshop we will start every day with a come-as-you-are movement technique class that will get us warmed up and ready to get creating.
We will then dive into the how’s and how-to’s of dance choreography, composition, and improvisation to work individually, in small teams, and as a whole group to develop, grow, and experiment with a piece of dance choreography unique to the creator and the community of this Dance Composition Workshop experiment. Seasoned dancer? Great, come join us! First time mover? Great, come join us! All level dancers are welcome and encouraged to enroll.

- Phoebe Ballard (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based mover, teacher, and writer often seen on NJTransit hustling between artistic engagements in NYC and NJ (usually delayed, coffee always in hand). She teaches for Dancewave and writes for herself; she finds grounding in the practice of improvisation. At the center of her making and teaching practice is a deep-seated desire to be together, to make things messy, to not take ourselves too seriously. Phoebe graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018 with an inspiringly unique cohort, a strong belief in the power of movement, and her BFA in dance.
