Camp Description 

 

You know you’re awesome. Your parents know you’re awesome. Your teachers know you’re awesome. Ever think about how you will show the world just how awesome you are 15 years from now? 30 years from now? If you haven’t thought about this, or you have and you can’t wait to think about it more, then Fast Track Forward is the course for you! Students will use online tools to understand how their talents, skills, interests, and academic strengths map onto relevant career clusters and career pathways. Students will unleash their motivation and confidence as they explore career opportunities as a function of education, training, transferrable skills, soft skills, resume building, just to name a few! Get excited about your future as you invest in the awesomeness of you on a fast track to future success!

 

Specifics About the Course

 

*Students take several online assessments that highlight their interests, personal qualities, skills, talents and school subjects they enjoy 

*Students develop an understanding of occupations, industries, and majors with common knowledge and skills (career clusters) based on their personalized career interest profile (students are not pigeonholed into a particular career cluster)

*Career pathways are explored and students learn how more education and training help them move within a pathway

*Students develop a “readiness plan” 

*Long term strategies are set in place

*Students develop the necessary skills needed for success in researching higher education programs, interviewing and soft skills, etc.

Fast Track Forward is run by Dr. Stropoli, Upper School Psychology Instructor with 20 years of experience in teaching, psychological research, and consulting in the areas of Industrial/Organizational and Social Psychology.
