Course Description

Welcome to Algebra Preview! Students will explore many concepts through the use of technology and hands-on manipulatives such as algebra tiles. Covering the first year of a traditional algebra sequence, this course begins with signed numbers and continues through polynomial operations & graphing and simplifying rational expressions. Word problems and factoring are emphasized. Methods of solving quadratic equations are introduced and exponents and radicals are presented. A prerequisite of pre-algebra is strongly recommended. Students are provided with step-by-step procedures that they can utilize in future classes on all concepts taught.
