Reading and Writing Preview

The Pingry English Preview Course provides students with a concentrated exposure to the techniques, practice, and modes of critical inquiry expected of a Pingry Upper School Student. In this course, students will be exposed to a variety of literature which will be used to develop their close reading, critical analysis, and academic writing skills. The course focuses on analytical writing with an emphasis on conventions of upper-school English grammar and style. In the end, the student who takes this course will arrive prepared for the rigors of 9th grade English and beyond.
