The Research Cycle: Inquiry, Evidence, and Argument
Course Description
Learn how research actually works. This two-week intensive teaches students to formulate focused research questions, evaluate sources using professional verification techniques, synthesize evidence across multiple perspectives, and construct arguments that hold up under scrutiny. Students will also learn to use AI tools responsibly: as utilities to be verified, not oracles to be blindly trusted. The course is workshop-based: students work daily on a research project of their choosing and finish with a polished argumentative artifact and annotated bibliography. (12 students max)
