Thinkertown!: Learning Through Play

In-person Summer Experience for Rising Kindergarten – 5th Graders

Thinkertown! is a collaborative in-person experience where campers build a small town and engage in real-world concepts through experiential learning and “hidden academics” to develop 21st century skills!

A typical day at Thinkertown! includes focusing on social and emotional learning as well as relationship building. Campers then collaborate with friends on a weekly Thinkertown! Challenge, navigating through rich dramatic play and problem-solving experiences. What happens when the bridge into Thinkertown! collapses? How can we rebuild and help weather-proof for future storms? What kind of unique transportation system will we need to develop for Thinkertown!? What kind of plants and animals thrive in this environment? What stores exist on Main Street? Laughter is as much part of Thinkertown! as “hidden academics.”

Embedded within these Thinkertown! experiences are intentional moments to build on core skills such as:
